WUZZ HAPPENIN'?!!
What up, Saladheads?! Mista D here with a lil' update on the band...
For those of you who listen to 102.1 The Edge, you should be familiar with the Find Todd A Fiancee contest. Well, this past Monday, our good friend and fill-in drummer, Darrin Pfeiffer, brought The Salads as a surprise over to the condo that Todd is living at, a week at a time with each of the 8 finalists, to serenade them with some acoustic Salads songs...and drink their beer! In other news...BIG CONGRATS to our drummer, Legs and Bammer on the birth of their new daughter, Ruca. We are so happy for them, and wish them all the best with their little bundle of goodness.
Another BIG CONGRATS to our original drummer, Grant Taylor and Dani Strong on their upcoming wedding this August. We will be there to report on the events of this sure-to-be rockin' country wedding! Congrats you guys!
In gig news...We are very excited about an outdoor show we are playing in Paris, Ontario on July 12th with Blue Rodeo, Matt Good, The Sadies, Grand Theft Bus, and more! Check that one out and bring the family...It should be a good one!
If you need a Salads fix sooner than that one, come out to Club Absinthe in Hamilton on May 30th to see us with Dodger! We'll definitely be playing some new, unreleased material, with some oldies, as loud as your eardrums can handle!
We'll also be doing a COCA showcase in Ottawa in June, so if you're planning to be at that one, do swing by and say hi!
Lastly, if you're in Toronto, swing by The Hideout at 484 Queen St. W. and have a look at 6 of my paintings on display (and for sale) in the dining area. They are part of my Singer Series that I am working on; Portraits of singers that I dig. Check 'em out!

We would like to send out a big thanks to everyone who came out to our St.Patty's show this year and helped us pack The Salt Lounge in London for an awesome night of drunken shenanigans! Another big thanks to all the staff and students at Cambrian College for yet another rockin' evening packed full of sing-alongs n' beer-bongs! Take a minute to check out all their video clips on their YouTube channel too...Hilarious stuff! The Salads are always happy to be a part of anything we dig that's independent, funny, AND Canadian. Plus we have a thing for pink bunnies. ;)
We are still writing like madmen for our next album, and have plans to begin recording over the next few months, which we're very excited about. We also hope to be testing out new material live at our upcoming shows so come on out for an early listen to some future Salads classics!

ANOTHER KILLER SALAD GOLD!
If you've been living under a rock, The Salads have been throwing this party in Toronto called SALAD GOLD since the year 2000. Eight years now! We just celebrated #14, packing the Horseshoe this past Saturday, and we have to sincerely thank everyone for coming out and making it yet another memorable event.
Those of you who took pics in our (first attempt at a) Salad Gold Photo Booth can get your pics HERE. It seems like Kazzer and myself (Mista D) were in most of the photos with the few brave souls. Now you watch how our Salad Gold Photo Booth will progress over the years to come. People will be lining up to get their picture taken! We got bigger plans. Look out. haha!
The Salads are still working very hard on writing a butt-load of new material for the next record. Hope to begin recording soon! And while we wait, in between a few local Salads shows, each of us are writing/performing with other bands: Chuck has been working with Sideblinder and can be found jamming with some of the guys from I Mother Earth too! Legs is about to go on a lil' tour playing drums with Dead And Divine. Mista D (that's me!) will be playing a few shows around Ontario with a new 5 man, electric, line-up of the Bob Marley tribute called Mob Barley & The Railers featuring members of Dodger, Pocket Dwellers, Skratch3, and Sol Azul! Check 'em out and show some love!

WHAT A'GWAN?!
We know it's been a while since we've let you know what a'gwan with us these days, but rest assure it's because we've been busy. Here's the low-down:
- We have begun work on our next album, and we're VERY stoked about it's direction so far. Trust us though...This'll be the bomb, boy!!
- For those of you who caught us at the Barrie date of Warped Tour this year, and remember me (Mista D) filming the crowd for YouTube? Well, you can catch the 2 videos at my YouTube page here. Thanks again for rockin' with us!
- Our Japanese release of THE BIG PICTURE is selling VERY well, and the label, TridentStyle/Triumphant are doing a great promo job...See new pics in our photo section soon! We can't hardly wait to get out there on tour!
- We're doing another FREE SHOW in Toronto, and this time it's at The Grey Cup! It will be outside on Front St. W., between The Rogers Centre (aka Skydome) and Union Station, on SAT.NOV.24TH. Show at 7PM. Hope to see you there for some outdoor fun!
- Look out for Salads drummer, LEGS, while he's out on tour with Skye Sweetnam. Keep givin'r, homey!

CLEVELAND WARPED TOUR
We had a Tornado hit down in Cleveland on show day of Warped Lucky 13. We were all scared out of our minds. The building that disapears in the storm that you see in this footage is where The Salads were standing and holding on to the Hot Topic stage for our dear lives....meanwhile the band Downtown Brown chugged vodka and took off their clothes while they anticipated their deaths. They were later kicked off the tour for getting too nutz in this dangerous moment. Poor crazy band. Click here to see a video. We all feel lucky to be alive, but somehow still had a great day!

WARPED TOUR NEWS
Warped was insane this past week! Shout outs to MSG and our boys at the Hot Topic stage. The week included a blown alternator in our van, stages blowing away in a tornado in Cleveland, band streaking through parking lots, hillbilly cab drivers with no sense of direction, Legs doing Whitney Houston cover songs, and tons of great music! Thanks to Dustin from the Surfers for filling in this past week. We all can't wait to meet D's new baby when he gets here! See you all in Montreal and Barrie! Cheers! - Chuck

SUMMER DAYZE LOCATION MOVED
Our show this Saturday at Cayuga Speedway has been moved. By reasons beyond the promoter's control, Cayuga Speedway and Haldimand County will not permit this show. So the organizers have secured an even bigger and better place called TORONTO MOTORSPORTS PARK in CAYUGA. Only 5 min from the Cayuga Speedway park. THE SALADS RELEASED IN JAPAN!
We are proud to announce that on AUGUST 8th, 2007, a special version of our album THE BIG PICTURE will be released in Japan on the record label, Triumphant/Trident Style. This CD will include all 10 songs from THE BIG PICTURE plus 4 songs from our FOLD A TO B album: GET LOOSE, UNHAPPY, THE ROTH KUNG FU, and WHO'S THAT KAT?. Q107 30th ANNIVERSARY THANK YOU!
Q107, our local classic rock station, turned 30 years old. This station has been rocking our ears for 30 years. Thanks to our friend Zeke, we got to open their anniversary bash at The Docks. 4000 of Kim Mitchell's closest friends killed it with us! Kim is Canada's rock guitar hero! It was really amazing to hear all the nice things he had to say about us that night. Max Webster rocked it, and all of the bands we watched as kids couldn't have been nicer! Thanks to The Mighty Q and their listeners for drinking with us and making the night a blast! You can check out some video of us getting the party started right HERE. CELEBRATE with THE SALADS on ST.PADDY'S DAY!!
After some long chats about all of the awesome drummers who came out to our auditions (REALLY, thanks again to you ALL!), we finally decided on one guy we would ask to play our next gig with us in London for St.Patrick's Day (March 17th)...
His name is Ryan Leger aka LEG$. LEG$ is a kool 22 year old who likes ridin' dirty. You may have seen him playing with his former band, Slute, or eating franks and beans with your sister. ;) We look forward to our upcoming rehearsals and shows with LEG$! DRUMMER AUDITIONS!
We will be holding auditions for a new drummer over two days at Cherry Beach Sound Rehearsal in Toronto (click here for directions!).
Here are the dates and times:
FRI.FEB.9th - 6pm-9pm in Room#2
SAT.FEB.10th - 12pm-3pm in Room#4
All drummers must come prepared to play these 4 songs: GET LOOSE, TIME 4 CHANGE, IT'S ALRIGHT, and INDIVIDUAL. (The first 2 songs are from our FOLD A TO B cd, and the other 2 are from our newest cd, THE BIG PICTURE. Get 'em!) We want YOU in our next music video!
We will be shooting our next video (for A BETTER WAY) on Monday January 22nd at The Opera House in Toronto. We need as many audience members as we can get to join us at 5PM. For those of you who don't know where The Opera House is, it's located at 735 Queen St. East. The Opera House is on the south side of Queen, just east of Broadview. There is a Green P Parking lot just north of Queen on Broadview. People are welcome to come as they are but any people will get points for dark, muted colors. We are trying to stay away from light colors if possible as they will stand out too much. We are hoping for a bunch of fun-loving people with lots of energy to make this crowd scene look awesome! One and all are welcome! Come and make some history with us! See y'all there!

Video-shoot & Drummer Auditions!
We will be shooting our next music video (for A BETTER WAY) on Mon. January 22nd in Toronto. We need people for an audience in the video, so please feel free to bring some friends and join us! We will be posting location and time details on here anyday, so keep an eye out! We are really excited about this video concept, and hope to share the experience with as many of our fans as possible, as the crowd will be more involved in this video!
We would also like to thank all the drummers who have sent us emails so far...Your responses are wonderfully overwhelming. We will be holding 2 days of auditions in Toronto sometime in a few weeks, so look out for those dates to be announced here also. Thanks again to all!

Happy New Year?
Well, we've got some good news and some bad news. It's always better to start with the bad news, right?
We are sad to announce that Grant Taylor (aka Dusty Luxury) has left The Salads. As most of you know, Darrin Pfeiffer (from Goldfinger) has been filling in on drums...but we are still on the hunt for a permanent replacement. Feel free to email us at thesaladsrule@gmail.com if you know of any good, available drummers.
Now on to the good news!
We are set to shoot our next video (for A BETTER WAY) on Monday, January 22nd somewhere in Toronto. Most of the video will be us performing, and we need some rabid, hot'n'sweaty members of the audience for this one! So if you are free on the 22nd and would like to be immortalized in our video, keep an eye out on our MySpace, and on this news board at TheSalads.com for location details, etc. Hope to see you all there!

CLEVELAND WARPED TOUR
We had a Tornado hit down in Cleveland on show day of Warped Lucky 13. We were all scared out of our minds. The building that disapears in the storm that you see in this footage is where The Salads were standing and holding on to the Hot Topic stage for our dear lives....meanwhile the band Downtown Brown chugged vodka and took off their clothes while they anticipated their deaths. They were later kicked off the tour for getting too nutz in this dangerous moment. Poor crazy band. Click here to see a video. We all feel lucky to be alive, but somehow still had a great day!

WARPED TOUR NEWS
Warped was insane this past week! Shout outs to MSG and our boys at the Hot Topic stage. The week included a blown alternator in our van, stages blowing away in a tornado in Cleveland, band streaking through parking lots, hillbilly cab drivers with no sense of direction, Legs doing Whitney Houston cover songs, and tons of great music! Thanks to Dustin from the Surfers for filling in this past week. We all can't wait to meet D's new baby when he gets here! See you all in Montreal and Barrie! Cheers! - Chuck

SUMMER DAYZE LOCATION MOVED
Our show this Saturday at Cayuga Speedway has been moved. By reasons beyond the promoter's control, Cayuga Speedway and Haldimand County will not permit this show. So the organizers have secured an even bigger and better place called TORONTO MOTORSPORTS PARK in CAYUGA. Only 5 min from the Cayuga Speedway park. THE SALADS RELEASED IN JAPAN!
We are proud to announce that on AUGUST 8th, 2007, a special version of our album THE BIG PICTURE will be released in Japan on the record label, Triumphant/Trident Style. This CD will include all 10 songs from THE BIG PICTURE plus 4 songs from our FOLD A TO B album: GET LOOSE, UNHAPPY, THE ROTH KUNG FU, and WHO'S THAT KAT?. Q107 30th ANNIVERSARY THANK YOU!
Q107, our local classic rock station, turned 30 years old. This station has been rocking our ears for 30 years. Thanks to our friend Zeke, we got to open their anniversary bash at The Docks. 4000 of Kim Mitchell's closest friends killed it with us! Kim is Canada's rock guitar hero! It was really amazing to hear all the nice things he had to say about us that night. Max Webster rocked it, and all of the bands we watched as kids couldn't have been nicer! Thanks to The Mighty Q and their listeners for drinking with us and making the night a blast! You can check out some video of us getting the party started right HERE. CELEBRATE with THE SALADS on ST.PADDY'S DAY!!
After some long chats about all of the awesome drummers who came out to our auditions (REALLY, thanks again to you ALL!), we finally decided on one guy we would ask to play our next gig with us in London for St.Patrick's Day (March 17th)...
His name is Ryan Leger aka LEG$. LEG$ is a kool 22 year old who likes ridin' dirty. You may have seen him playing with his former band, Slute, or eating franks and beans with your sister. ;) We look forward to our upcoming rehearsals and shows with LEG$! DRUMMER AUDITIONS!
We will be holding auditions for a new drummer over two days at Cherry Beach Sound Rehearsal in Toronto (click here for directions!).
Here are the dates and times:
FRI.FEB.9th - 6pm-9pm in Room#2
SAT.FEB.10th - 12pm-3pm in Room#4
All drummers must come prepared to play these 4 songs: GET LOOSE, TIME 4 CHANGE, IT'S ALRIGHT, and INDIVIDUAL. (The first 2 songs are from our FOLD A TO B cd, and the other 2 are from our newest cd, THE BIG PICTURE. Get 'em!) We want YOU in our next music video!
We will be shooting our next video (for A BETTER WAY) on Monday January 22nd at The Opera House in Toronto. We need as many audience members as we can get to join us at 5PM. For those of you who don't know where The Opera House is, it's located at 735 Queen St. East. The Opera House is on the south side of Queen, just east of Broadview. There is a Green P Parking lot just north of Queen on Broadview. People are welcome to come as they are but any people will get points for dark, muted colors. We are trying to stay away from light colors if possible as they will stand out too much. We are hoping for a bunch of fun-loving people with lots of energy to make this crowd scene look awesome! One and all are welcome! Come and make some history with us! See y'all there!

Video-shoot & Drummer Auditions!
We will be shooting our next music video (for A BETTER WAY) on Mon. January 22nd in Toronto. We need people for an audience in the video, so please feel free to bring some friends and join us! We will be posting location and time details on here anyday, so keep an eye out! We are really excited about this video concept, and hope to share the experience with as many of our fans as possible, as the crowd will be more involved in this video!
We would also like to thank all the drummers who have sent us emails so far...Your responses are wonderfully overwhelming. We will be holding 2 days of auditions in Toronto sometime in a few weeks, so look out for those dates to be announced here also. Thanks again to all!

Happy New Year?
Well, we've got some good news and some bad news. It's always better to start with the bad news, right?
We are sad to announce that Grant Taylor (aka Dusty Luxury) has left The Salads. As most of you know, Darrin Pfeiffer (from Goldfinger) has been filling in on drums...but we are still on the hunt for a permanent replacement. Feel free to email us at thesaladsrule@gmail.com if you know of any good, available drummers.
Now on to the good news!
We are set to shoot our next video (for A BETTER WAY) on Monday, January 22nd somewhere in Toronto. Most of the video will be us performing, and we need some rabid, hot'n'sweaty members of the audience for this one! So if you are free on the 22nd and would like to be immortalized in our video, keep an eye out on our MySpace, and on this news board at TheSalads.com for location details, etc. Hope to see you all there!

Grant has gone on tour with RCA touring artist Landon Pigg throughout the USA! We wish him well. In the meantime, our great friend and yours, the always Dangerous Darrin Pfeiffer, from Goldfinger will be filling in on drums! We are pumped! Don't miss out on these special Salad shows!
